Last night I was at my son’s high school talent show performance. Of course there were tons of people there I knew. I was pretty nervous because lately I have been hiding out and being very antisocial. My menopause symptoms have been horrible and I really just felt like being a hermit for the last few months avoiding many social situations. Obviously this event I couldn’t miss, nor did I want to miss it and was looking very forward to it. All I can say is thank goodness for makeup. I looked and felt like “death warmed over” most of the week. My face has been broken out with zits for days. Are you friggin kidding me? I am 48 years old for goodness sake. Why am I still getting zits??? When is this gonna stop? I am so over it. I will actually be doing a whole separate blog just on menopause acne. So stay tuned for that.
So getting back to the beauty of makeup. Even the cheapest stuff can make you look great. And trust me, my makeup bag is full of cheap old stuff. Since I have been a hermit lately sporting sweats and ponytails and rarely leaving the house, of course my makeup collection has not been updated. Still I managed to transform myself to a halfway decent, alert and alive looking mom. So thank you Maybelline Great Lash Mascara, you are my favorite cheap trusty standby makeup accessory. Thank goodness that we women can still hide behind makeup even on the worst days.
I love this blog! Thanks so much for this.
